Application catalog
The Application Catalog is the register of every system your organization depends on: the apps you build, the SaaS you buy, and the partner systems you integrate with. Each entry records ownership, commercials, lifecycle dates, technical details, and an EA assessment.
The Application Catalog is available on the Enterprise plan. Anyone in the workspace can view it. Creating and editing applications requires the Member role or higher.
Browse the catalog
Open Application Catalog in the sidebar. The list can be narrowed with the filter toolbar:
- Search name… matches application titles.
- Dropdowns for vendor, hosting, criticality, lifecycle, and status.
- EOL before shows applications whose vendor end-of-life date is on or before the date you pick.
Click Filter to apply and Clear to reset. Columns can be sorted.
Add an application
- Click + New Application.
- Enter a Title and choose a Status.
- Fill in as much of the four sections below as you know. Every field except the title is optional.
- Click Create. You land on the new application's page.
To change an application later, open it, click Edit, and click Save.
Status
Applications don't go through review. Their status reflects where they are in your portfolio:
- Active: in use.
- Deprecated: still running, but on its way out.
- Retired: no longer in use. The record is kept for history.

Picking values from lists
Owners, vendor, sourcing, license type, cost center, lifecycle stage, hosting, data classification, criticality, and TIME are chosen from managed lists that your admins curate, so the same vendor or cost center is always spelled the same way.
If the value you need isn't there, choose + Add… at the bottom of the dropdown, enter a Name (plus any extra details the list asks for, such as a contact's email, role, and phone), and click Add. The new value is available to everyone straight away.
Admins can rename, archive, and merge values under Managed lists.
The application page
An application's page shows:
- Its ref ID, title, status, and chips for lifecycle stage, criticality, and TIME.
- Owner and vendor cards. Click a card to reveal contact details such as email, phone, and support portal.
- Commercials & Contract, Technical, and EA Assessment sections, showing only the fields that have values.
- A Key Dates panel. Vendor EOL, end of support, and contract renewal dates are highlighted in amber when they're less than six months away, and in red once they've passed.
Every save is versioned, so earlier versions of the record are kept.
Add an application to the architecture model
On the Pro and Enterprise plans, an application's page includes an Architecture Model card that connects it to your C4 diagrams.
- If the card says Not yet part of the architecture model, click Add to architecture model. The application becomes a system in the model, named after the application.
- Once it's in the model, the card lists the system's containers. Add containers here with a name, description, free-text technology, and linked Technology Components, exactly as you would on the model page.
You can also add several applications at once from Diagrams > Model using Add from application catalog.
