Notifications
ArchForge tells the right people when work needs their attention. Most notifications arrive in two places at once: the bell in the app and your email inbox.
The notifications bell
The bell sits in the top bar of every page. A badge shows how many unread notifications you have (up to 9+).
Click the bell to see your ten most recent notifications. Opening the panel marks them all as read. Click a notification to jump to the artifact it's about.
What you're notified about
Reviews
| Event | Who is notified | In the app | By email |
|---|---|---|---|
| An artifact is proposed for review | The chosen reviewer | "ADR-0042 needs your review" | Yes |
| An artifact is resubmitted after changes | The assigned reviewer | "ADR-0042 was resubmitted for your review" | Yes |
| The reviewer accepts or publishes it | The authors | "ADR-0042 was accepted" (or "published") | Yes |
| The reviewer rejects it | The authors | "ADR-0042 was rejected" | Yes |
| The reviewer requests changes | The authors | "ADR-0042: changes requested" | Yes, with the list of requested changes |
"The authors" means the artifact's creator and every co-author.
Weekly review digest
Every Monday morning, each reviewer with artifacts still waiting on them gets one digest: a notification such as "3 artifacts awaiting your review" listing the reference IDs, and an email with a link to each one. If nothing is waiting on you, you don't get a digest.
RFC deadlines
An open RFC accepts comments on a 60-day clock (see Running an RFC). On day 55, five days before the standard deadline, the RFC's authors get a reminder such as "RFC-0014 closes for comments in 5 days", in the app and by email. That gives you time to click Extend to 90 days or wrap up the discussion. Each RFC gets one reminder.
When the window runs out, ArchForge closes the RFC automatically.
